Hi!
I'm Rachel and together with my mum Sue and friend Diane our small rescue/reprieve was born .
The partial aim of the website is to give a little basic information to prospective ferret owners,help wherever possible and to dispel some of the myths about ferrets and their ownership.They are not the nasty smell dirty creatures of old that were once banished to the bottom of the garden in painfully small hutches, they are infact the most playful, loving delightful little creatures,which make excellent pets,as well as being potential work mates for rabbiting.
In my opinion there is no difference between a working ferret or a pet ferret,they need the same care, love and attention - a ferret is a ferret no matter how its labelled and gives equal joy to its owner, be that on the field or in your lounge! No one, hunter or pet owner wants a ferret thats difficult to handle, as the saying goes the more you put in the more you will get out, gentle consistent handling with patience and kindness goes a lot further than harsh words or physical punishment.
We are all avid promoters of ferret welfare and rescue, all of our ferrets,(we have over 70 under the Dream Weezles banner between the 3 of us) have been handed in as unwanted,abused or foundlings to our local vets or RSPCA or from another rescue - in my case Harrietsham rescue in Kent.
We are also great supporters of neutering - there are thousands of unwanted ferrets that pass through rescues all over the country each year.Irresponsible breeding just adds to the problem,so there are always more ferrets than loving homes available!

Rhett and Co Ferret Bedding
Rhett was my first ever ferret,he is still going strong at the ripe old age of around 8 years, due to him coming to me from the rescue we have no idea of his actual birth year. It soon became apparent that he loved his creature comforts,and so Rhett & Co bedding was created.All monies raised through sales go 100% to the ferrets in our care and we strive also to help ferrets in rescues all over the world.
